Mama Hornworm Update

Remember the new mama...?

A friend of mine did some research on the Hornworm after finding a few in her garden. She discovered that the white sac-like things attached to it's body are actually parasites. They are wasp eggs and they are feeding on the worm. (and I thought it was bad when I thought they were just her babies!) They will continue to eat the worm until they hatch and finally kill the worm. Then they will seek out more Hornworms to start the process all over again.

This is obviously bad for the Hornworm... but GOOD for your garden! So if you see that in your garden let it be and you probably won't have so many Hornworms. You can find more about the Hornworm here and here. Thanks Z for the info.
